We have recently separated from the Navy. We were both IT's and have served our country around the world.

Matthew Marshall is 25, after the bike trip he will be attending the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. He was born and raised in Silver Spring, MD but at age 16 moved to Brevard, NC.

Andrew Bryson is 23 and was raised in Sharpsburg, MD. After the trip he will be taking a job in the Middle East as an SQL Administrator.

We came up with the idea for Pedal Across after reading the book Planet Walker, by Dr. John Francis. We were inspired by his story and decided to create our own journey. Spending countless hours in our server room forming our plan while maintaining our networks we finally landed on biking across the country to help raise money for a cause. The Lance Armstrong Foundation aligned with our ambitions, and with that we applied as a grassroots fundraiser. Since then we have spent our time in preparation for our trip, raising funds, improving on our site, telling people about our cause, and trying to find sponsors.
